A Police Station in Champigny-sur-Marne was attacked the day before yesterday in a chaotic maelstrom of metal bars and fireworks. The perpetrators were an unidentified group of around 40 people, who tried and failed to breach the station doors.
Champigny Mayor Laurent Jeanne told BFM:
“It was an organised attack of about 40 people who wanted to do battle.”
This is the latest in a string of recent incidents targeting law enforcement in the area. Police union officials say that these incidents underscore the growing threat facing our law enforcement officials in Paris and other large cities.
Frederic Lagache of the Alliance police union says:
“There is no longer any respect for law enforcement, and unfortunately the government has not succeeded in changing this trend,”
